Ripple Adds AI Agents to Its $1B Corporate Treasury Strategy

Ripple is integrating AI agents into its corporate treasury business, expanding software that can track cash positions, assess risk, analyze forecasts and recommend the next steps for finance teams. However, every action still requires human approval before it can be executed.

The new GSmart tools are built into Ripple Treasury, the former GTreasury platform that Ripple acquired in October as part of its $1 billion entry into the corporate treasury market.

According to a Thursday announcement, the AI agents can oversee tasks including liquidity management, forecasting and reconciliation. They can identify potential issues, recommend responses and point to the relevant company policy supporting each recommendation. Ripple said no action is carried out without approval from a human employee.

The approach is designed to limit the risks of using AI in financial operations. Ripple said deterministic software handles financial calculations, while AI is used to interpret corporate policies, identify patterns and explain why particular actions are being recommended.

GSmart was originally launched in June 2025, before Ripple acquired GTreasury. The latest update extends the technology across a broader range of treasury functions and introduces Knowledge Studio, a policy-focused layer, along with an Ask GSmart assistant that allows users to query corporate financial data.

Ripple said 60% of eligible customers have already activated its Risk Insights feature, while 44% are using Forecast Insights.

The expanded AI capabilities also build on Ripple’s broader strategy for its GTreasury acquisition. Earlier this year, CoinDesk reported that Ripple had started integrating digital assets directly into its treasury software, allowing corporate finance teams to manage digital assets alongside traditional cash.

The platform can now support the management of both conventional and digital assets, further combining corporate treasury operations with crypto-based financial tools.
