Donald Trump Jr. Refutes Truth Social Crypto Rumors: “It’s Completely False”
Donald Trump Jr. has publicly denied rumors that Truth Social, the social platform affiliated with former President Donald Trump, is planning to launch a memecoin.
In a Monday night post on X, Trump Jr. called out the speculation as misinformation. “There’s no truth whatsoever about Truth Social launching a memecoin,” he wrote. “Don’t be fooled by false information people are circulating.”
The statement follows a viral post from crypto personality Ran Neuner, who claimed a Truth Social token was on the horizon and connected it to the team behind the TRUMP memecoin.
Adding to the confusion, a surge of similarly branded “Truth” tokens has emerged on Ethereum and Solana-based exchanges, according to data from DEXTools.
World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a DeFi project linked to the Trump family, backed Trump Jr.’s remarks. “Don’t be fooled,” WLFI posted on X. “There is no new Trump crypto project. WLFI is the only DeFi initiative supported by the Trumps. Everything else is a scam.”
Despite ongoing speculation in crypto circles about a potential Trump-linked token, Truth Social has never officially launched or endorsed a cryptocurrency. A shareholder letter from April did mention upcoming plans for a rewards coin and digital wallet, but nothing resembling a memecoin has been confirmed.
