Metaplanet Amasses 5,000 BTC, Secures 121.1% Yield in 2025
Japanese hospitality company Metaplanet Inc. (TSE: 3350) has expanded its Bitcoin holdings to 5,000 BTC, reinforcing its commitment to BTC as a strategic reserve asset. The total value of its stash now stands at approximately $428.1 million, with an average purchase price of $85,621 per coin.
The latest acquisition — 145 BTC at an average price of $93,327 — brought in an additional $13.6 million worth of Bitcoin.
The company reports a 121.1% BTC Yield year-to-date, a custom metric that tracks growth in bitcoin per share while adjusting for dilution. In Q1 alone, Metaplanet achieved a 95.6% yield using this benchmark.
Despite strong on-chain and treasury metrics, the firm’s stock was down 5% at the time of reporting.
