U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted more than $1.07 billion in net inflows over three trading sessions between October 19 and October 21. Meanwhile, a cryptocurrency wallet associated with convicted Irish drug trafficker Clifton Collins transferred another 500 BTC, valued at approximately $41 million, to a Coinbase Prime deposit address.
The ETF inflows point to a strong recovery in institutional demand for Bitcoin investment products. At the same time, the latest transfer has renewed interest in Collins’ long-dormant cryptocurrency holdings and the mystery surrounding access to his Bitcoin fortune.
U.S. Bitcoin ETFs Record More Than $1 Billion in Three Days
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $526.7 million in net inflows on Monday, October 19, followed by $23.2 million on Tuesday and $524.8 million on Wednesday. Together, the funds attracted approximately $1.0747 billion over the three trading sessions.
Wednesday’s strong performance was led by BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which received $235 million in net inflows, while Fidelity’s FBTC attracted $212.7 million. Grayscale’s GBTC recorded $32.6 million in inflows, and Bitwise’s BITB added $19.2 million.
Several other funds also reported positive flows. ARKB attracted $9.8 million, EZBC received $7.3 million, and the fund identified as BTC recorded $8.2 million in inflows.
Tuesday’s results were considerably weaker. IBIT brought in $29.9 million, while FBTC received $3.6 million. However, BITB experienced $10.3 million in outflows, leaving the overall market with net inflows of $23.2 million.
Monday’s $526.7 million total was largely supported by IBIT, which attracted $665.2 million. These gains were partially offset by $54.9 million in outflows from GBTC and $83.6 million from FBTC.
The three-day performance signals renewed interest in regulated Bitcoin investment vehicles. However, subsequent trading sessions will determine whether the recovery represents a sustained increase in institutional demand or a temporary surge concentrated in a handful of funds.
Wallet Linked to Irish Drug Trafficker Transfers Another $41 Million in Bitcoin
A wallet associated with Clifton Collins, according to blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence, transferred another 500 BTC worth approximately $41 million to Coinbase Prime on October 20.
The transaction was reportedly the fifth transfer of 500 BTC from Collins-linked holdings during 2026, adding to a series of movements involving Bitcoin that had long been considered inaccessible.
According to reports, Collins accumulated approximately 6,000 BTC during 2011 and 2012 using proceeds from drug trafficking. After his arrest in 2017, printed copies containing his wallet keys were reportedly thrown away by his landlord, leading to the belief that the cryptocurrency could no longer be accessed.
Recent transfers have raised questions about how control of these holdings was regained and who authorized the transactions. Arkham’s tracking suggests that approximately 2,500 BTC associated with Collins-linked holdings have moved during 2026, leaving roughly 3,500 BTC in related wallets.
These movements have coincided with Bitcoin seizures publicly announced by Ireland’s Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB), which has reported confiscations linked to Collins during the year.
The status of the remaining Bitcoin remains an important unresolved issue. Additional transfers, official statements from Irish authorities, or confirmation from Coinbase could help clarify whether the assets are under government control, held in custody, or being moved for another reason.
Bitcoin ETF Inflows Rise as Long-Dormant Holdings Move
The $1.07 billion in net inflows recorded by U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs over three sessions offers a fresh indication of demand for regulated cryptocurrency investment products.
Meanwhile, the movement of another 500 BTC from a wallet linked to Collins illustrates how substantial amounts of previously dormant Bitcoin can return to circulation.
Although the developments involve different aspects of the cryptocurrency market, both highlight the continued significance of Bitcoin ownership and capital flows. ETF inflows reflect investor demand through traditional financial products, while the Collins-linked transactions raise continuing questions about the fate of a cryptocurrency fortune once believed to be lost.
