Bitcoin Reclaims $64K as Most Major Cryptocurrencies Edge Lower

Bitcoin climbed above $64,000 on Tuesday, gaining more than 1% over the day and edging higher for the week. It was the only major cryptocurrency to post a notable advance as most of the market moved lower.

Ether slipped about 0.5% to just below $1,900 but remained nearly 1% higher over seven days. XRP declined more than 1% to under $1 and was down over 2% for the week, making it the weakest performer among the major tokens. Dogecoin fell almost 0.5% to around $0.07, while BNB and Tron edged lower to just above $600 and $0.33, respectively. Solana was largely unchanged near $76.

Among smaller large-cap tokens, Hyperliquid’s HYPE was a standout, rising nearly 1% to slightly above $59. It has gained about 7.5% over the past week, giving it the strongest weekly performance in the group.

Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, said Bitcoin has remained below its 50-day moving average for four consecutive days after previously attempting to reclaim the level. On the longer-term chart, BTC is also trading below its 200-week moving average.

According to Kuptsikevich, those indicators suggest sellers continue to control both the medium- and long-term trends. He added that the outlook is unlikely to change significantly until Bitcoin breaks out of its current $62,000-$65,000 range.

Bitcoin Mining Capacity Shifts Toward AI

Changes are also taking place beneath Bitcoin’s price action as miners increasingly redirect resources toward artificial intelligence.

Publicly traded Bitcoin miners have reduced their combined computing capacity by 21% over the past three quarters, according to Miner Weekly. The decline reflects efforts to shift infrastructure toward AI-related operations amid weaker mining economics and growing competition for electricity and investment capital.

Venice Revenue Milestone Boosts VVV

Venice, an AI platform founded by crypto entrepreneur Erik Voorhees, announced that its annualized revenue has surpassed $100 million.

The milestone helped drive Venice’s VVV token about 10% higher on the day, with the token trading around $13.30.

Oil and Bond Markets Add to Risk Pressure

Broader financial markets remained under pressure even as Bitcoin advanced.

Brent crude rose more than 0.5% to slightly above $91 per barrel after President Donald Trump said he was not interested in extending an agreement with Iran that is approaching expiration. Renewed fighting in Lebanon also contributed to concerns over regional stability.

Asian government bonds followed the decline in U.S. Treasuries as investors grew increasingly concerned about public finances. Higher energy prices added to fears that inflation could accelerate further.

Stocks and equity futures also moved lower, highlighting the broader risk-off environment facing financial markets.
