Strategy CFO Andrew Kang is stepping down as the company reports record quarterly operating income of approximately $21 billion and expands its bitcoin holdings to 848,517 BTC.
Strategy (MSTR) announced in a Thursday filing that Kang will leave his position on Nov. 5. The company is the largest publicly traded corporate holder of bitcoin (BTC).
Kang notified Strategy on Oct. 26 that he planned to resign for personal reasons, the company disclosed alongside its quarterly financial results.
Strategy emphasized that his departure was “not the result of any disagreement” involving the company’s operations, policies or business practices. Kang will continue working with the company in an advisory role until Dec. 31.
Reza Virasteh, Strategy’s current executive vice president of operations, is scheduled to take over the CFO position on Jan. 1. He will serve as co-principal financial officer alongside President and CEO Phong Le, who will supervise the finance department throughout the transition.
The company will divide financial responsibilities between the two executives. Le will continue overseeing bitcoin-related strategy, capital markets, treasury operations and investor relations. Virasteh will focus primarily on financial management and budgeting for Strategy’s software business.
Strategy reported approximately $21 billion in third-quarter operating income. It also said it had raised $21 billion in capital so far this year and held 848,517 BTC as of Oct. 25, representing a 26% increase from the beginning of 2026.
MSTR shares dropped 6.4% in premarket trading on Friday, while bitcoin declined 3.3% over the previous 24 hours. Strategy’s STRC preferred shares remained unchanged at $99.45.
