BTC and European Stocks Rise Following Announcement of Trump-Xi Meeting

Bitcoin, European Stocks Lifted Ahead of Trump-Xi Meeting

Bitcoin (BTC) traded above $111,000 Friday morning in Europe, buoyed by news that U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet later this month.

The leaders are set to hold talks on October 30 at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in South Korea—their first face-to-face meeting since Trump took office.

The announcement comes amid mounting trade tensions, with Trump imposing 100% tariffs on Chinese imports in response to Beijing’s tighter control over rare earth exports. The tariffs are scheduled to take effect November 1 unless an agreement is reached beforehand.

European markets followed suit, with S&P 500 futures rising 0.3%, the Euro Stoxx 50 up 0.25%, and Germany’s DAX gaining 0.15%. Meanwhile, gold fell nearly 1% to $4,089 as investors awaited U.S. inflation data.
