Ripple’s Hidden Road Launches U.S. Crypto OTC Swap Brokerage for Institutional Investors
Hidden Road, the prime brokerage platform acquired by Ripple for $1.25 billion, has officially rolled out its digital asset OTC swap services for U.S.-based institutional clients. This new offering enables cash-settled over-the-counter cryptocurrency swaps, opening a significant market segment previously underserved in the U.S.
Operating through its FCA-regulated UK subsidiary, Hidden Road Partners CIV UK Ltd, the platform also provides cross-margining and financing solutions designed to enhance trading efficiency and risk management for institutional traders.
Michael Higgins, International CEO and Global Head of Corporate Development at Hidden Road, highlighted the move’s importance: “The U.S. market has lacked access to a full suite of OTC swap products, despite these trades representing a large share of global digital asset volumes. Our new brokerage capabilities address this gap, offering institutions broader and more flexible tools.”
OTC swaps, which allow large trades to occur off-exchange, help institutions minimize market impact and price volatility. With Ripple’s backing, Hidden Road aims to grow its footprint as a leading non-bank digital asset prime broker worldwide.
