Trump-Linked WLFI Scoops Up 3.54M MNT After Mantle’s Major Upgrade
World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a decentralized finance (DeFi) firm with ties to the Trump family, has acquired 3.54 million Mantle (MNT) tokens following the network’s latest technological advancement.
Blockchain analytics firms Lookonchain and Arkham Intelligence report that WLFI spent roughly $3 million USDC to purchase the tokens at an average price of $0.84. Despite this addition, WLFI’s total crypto portfolio—spanning ETH, WBTC, TRX, LINK, AAVE, and ENA—still sits at an unrealized $111 million loss.
Mantle Network, an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution, executed a hard fork on March 19, incorporating EigenDA—a high-speed, decentralized data availability layer. The upgrade improves transaction throughput to 15 MB/s and enhances compatibility with Ethereum’s forthcoming Pectra update.
At last check, MNT was trading at $0.83, up 6% for the day, per data from CoinDesk and TradingView.
