Floki (FLOKI), the memecoin project, launched its zero-fee debit card on Monday, available in 31 European countries with plans for future global expansion. The card enables users to spend cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), tether (USDT), BNB Chain’s BNB, and FLOKI, at any merchant that accepts VISA or Mastercard. The card offers zero transaction or exchange rate fees and is compatible with over eight blockchain networks.
The physical card is priced at $33, while the virtual version costs just over $10. A 2% top-up fee applies when transferring tokens into the spending account linked to the card.
Floki’s lead developer, “B,” told CoinDesk via Telegram that the new card allows FLOKI holders to effortlessly spend their tokens globally, bypassing the usual hassles of converting crypto to fiat. A VIP card will also be introduced, offering higher transaction limits of up to $50,000 per day and $250,000 per month.
The cards will not be available in regions under U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions or where banks impose restrictions.
Currently, the card is available in countries including Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
