Crypto Week Ahead: Inflation Data, Earnings Season and Bitcoin’s Next Move

Crypto Week Ahead: Key Events for the Week Starting July 13

Here’s a preview of the major developments expected during the week of July 13.

U.S. inflation figures and upcoming financial-sector earnings are expected to play a major role in shaping crypto market sentiment, as investors search for new clues about interest rates, economic strength, and overall appetite for risk.

The latest consumer price index (CPI) report for June is scheduled for Tuesday, followed by producer price index (PPI) data on Wednesday. Both releases will provide markets with additional insight into the Federal Reserve’s potential monetary policy direction.

Markus Levin, co-founder of XYO, said that weaker-than-expected CPI and PPI data could increase expectations for looser monetary policy, a scenario that has historically benefited bitcoin and the wider cryptocurrency market. However, a hotter inflation reading could delay anticipated rate cuts and potentially push bitcoin below the $60,000 level.

Investors will also closely monitor earnings reports from major U.S. banks, including JPMorgan, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo, as these results often offer one of the clearest indicators of the current health of the American economy.

Levin noted that strong lending activity, resilient consumer spending, and stable credit conditions would support the view that economic growth remains strong, potentially improving broader market risk sentiment.

Meanwhile, renewed tensions between the U.S. and Iran, along with concerns over possible disruptions near the Strait of Hormuz, could add another layer of uncertainty. Any impact on oil markets may create additional volatility across global financial assets, including cryptocurrencies.
