Crypto Rebounds as Iran Proposal Report Lifts Stocks, Pressures Oil

Strive, led by Matt Cole, expanded its bitcoin holdings by adding 21 BTC last week, bringing its total to 19,921 coins. During the same period, the company sold 443,797 common shares, generating roughly $4.5 million and lifting its cash reserves to $157.4 million from $154.1 million. Its stock edged up 1.8% in pre-market trading.

Meanwhile, Tom Lee’s BitMine Immersion made a relatively small purchase of 7,430 ether tokens, marking its lightest weekly addition this year. The firm now controls about 4.8% of Ethereum’s total supply. It also bought back 5.5 million of its own shares. Michael Saylor’s Strategy raised $263.5 million through a stock sale last week, allocating $225 million to increase its cash reserves to $3.225 billion. The current reserve covers about 22 months of dividends. Shares gained 1.1% pre-market as bitcoin climbed toward $64,800.

In the infrastructure space, Hut 8 secured a second 15-year lease at its Beacon Point site in Texas, doubling tenant capacity to 704 MW and pushing the deal’s value to around $19.6 billion, sending its shares up 16.7% before the open. IREN also announced new cloud agreements worth $2.8 billion and raised its projected AI cloud annualized revenue to more than $4 billion, boosting its stock by 9% in pre-market trading.

Chip stocks found some relief after last week’s sharp decline, with Nasdaq 100 futures rising 0.4% and S&P 500 contracts up 0.2%. The semiconductor ETF also ticked higher, while Alibaba shares rallied in Hong Kong following a preview of a new flagship AI model. Investors are now focused on upcoming earnings from major tech firms, including Alphabet, Tesla and Intel, for signals on whether AI-driven growth remains intact.

On the geopolitical front, reports that Iranian mediators are proposing a 10-day ceasefire to restart negotiations with the U.S. pushed oil prices lower, with WTI crude dropping about $3 to $80 per barrel. The news lifted Nasdaq futures by 1% and helped bitcoin rise roughly 1% to $64,900.

In crypto markets, smaller tokens outperformed, with Pump.fun’s PUMP surging over 16% and Pi Network’s PI climbing 12% in the past 24 hours. Other tokens such as JUP, ING and BEAT posted modest gains, while Provenance Blockchain’s HASH fell nearly 10%, making it the biggest loser among the top 100 cryptocurrencies. ZEC, NIGHT and LIT also declined between 3% and 5%.

Earlier in the day, bitcoin dipped to around $63,900, down 1.3%, as markets balanced rising oil prices driven by Middle East tensions against lingering weakness in AI-related equities. Ether, BNB, XRP and dogecoin all traded lower, while Brent crude briefly topped $91 per barrel, heightening inflation concerns despite recently softer U.S. economic data.
