Jane Street Reveals Major XRP ETF Position in New Filing
2 hours ago
Jane Street Group disclosed ownership of more than 1.2 million shares of Bitwise’s XRP ETF as of June 30, 2026, a significant jump from the 20,605 shares it held three months earlier. The roughly 60-fold increase was revealed in the trading firm’s second-quarter Form 13F filing with the SEC.
The disclosure underscores Jane Street’s growing presence in the XRP ETF market. However, because the firm is a major market maker that routinely trades ETFs and options, its reported holdings should not automatically be interpreted as a long-term bullish position on XRP.
Jane Street’s Q2 2026 Form 13F reflects its reportable holdings as of June 30. The filing showed more than 1.2 million shares of Bitwise’s XRP ETF, compared with 20,605 shares reported at the end of the first quarter.
The firm also disclosed positions in XRP-related ETFs offered by Franklin Templeton, Grayscale, Canary Capital and 21Shares. Its exposure therefore spans multiple XRP investment products rather than being concentrated solely in Bitwise’s fund.
Bitwise’s ETF is notable for providing direct exposure to spot XRP. The fund launched in November, shortly after Canary Capital introduced its own XRP ETF, and has since grown into the largest fund among those referenced in the filings.
The June 30 filing confirms Jane Street’s reportable securities exposure at the end of the quarter, but it does not reveal whether the firm intends to maintain the position or provide insight into the duration or purpose of the holdings.
Even so, Jane Street’s disclosed position places it among the more prominent institutional participants in the XRP ETF market based on the filings reviewed.
Morgan Stanley also disclosed exposure to three XRP-related funds at the end of the second quarter. Its holdings included 6,715 shares of Franklin’s XRP ETF, 255 shares of REX-Osprey’s fund and 567 shares of Bitwise’s ETF. While these positions are small compared with Morgan Stanley’s broader portfolio, they add another major financial institution to the list reporting regulated XRP exposure.
Other filings showed nearly 200,000 shares of Bitwise’s XRP ETF held by Wolverine Asset Management and 86,744 shares of the 21Shares XRP ETF owned by Gallacher Capital Management. Main Street Group reported 5,261 XRP-related shares, while National Bank of Canada disclosed 3,848 shares.
