Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is set to headline the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2026 as a sponsor-backed speaker, joining SEC Chair Paul Atkins at a time when Senate discussions around the CLARITY Act remain unresolved.
SALT announced on July 29 that Garlinghouse will be the featured speaker at the third annual Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, a private event bringing together roughly 500 investors, developers, and policymakers. The gathering, co-hosted by SALT and Kraken, will take place at the Four Seasons Resort in Jackson Hole from Aug. 17 to Aug. 20.
Ripple is also listed as an official sponsor of the event under the “Grand Teton” sponsorship tier, alongside companies including Galaxy, Clear Street, and Multicoin Capital, according to SALT’s event website. Garlinghouse’s participation therefore represents more than a standard conference appearance.
The event places Ripple and its CEO at the center of one of the most policy-focused crypto gatherings of the third quarter of 2026. The timing comes after Ripple’s long-running legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission concluded, while broader federal legislation defining crypto market oversight remains stalled in the Senate.
The announcement arrives as XRP trades near $1.06, down almost 2% over the previous 24 hours and about 1.5% over the past week. XRP’s daily trading volume stands at approximately $1.14 billion, compared with $1.22 billion the day before.
The confirmed speaker lineup, based on SALT’s July 29 announcement on X and additional reporting, includes SEC Chair Paul Atkins, Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott, and Comptroller of the Currency Jonathan Gould.
The event will also feature major figures from the crypto industry, including Galaxy CEO Michael Novogratz, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, Stellar Development Foundation CEO Denelle Dixon, Custodia Bank founder Caitlin Long, Kraken CEO David Ripley, and Ondo Finance executive John Hoffman.
The symposium will focus on major industry topics, including U.S. and international crypto regulation, Bitcoin’s growing role as a corporate treasury asset, tokenization of traditional financial markets, and decentralized artificial intelligence infrastructure.
While panel sessions will be publicly attributable, evening gatherings and activities scheduled for Aug. 20 will take place under off-the-record rules. This structure highlights the symposium’s role as a private forum for industry and policy discussions rather than a typical public conference.
Ripple’s Regulatory Position and CLARITY Act Push
Ripple’s appearance comes after the company resolved its SEC enforcement case in March 2026 through a $150 million settlement. The case involved allegations that Ripple conducted an unregistered $1.3 billion XRP offering beginning in December 2020.
Garlinghouse appearing alongside SEC Chair Paul Atkins after the settlement highlights the changing relationship between regulators and crypto companies as policymakers continue debating oversight responsibilities for digital assets.
On July 22, Garlinghouse urged Congress to move forward with the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, arguing that the legislation is needed to improve consumer protection and provide clearer rules for the industry. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has expressed similar support.
Although the bill has received bipartisan backing, it still requires 60 Senate votes to advance and faces resistance from seven Senate Democrats over concerns related to ethics standards and consumer safeguards.
Ripple’s involvement in Wyoming also carries additional significance because the state has become active in blockchain initiatives, including the launch of its FRNT stablecoin.
The Jackson Hole event could provide insight into the direction and pace of future crypto regulations, particularly if the CLARITY Act remains unresolved before the Senate recess.
While no major announcements are expected, discussions at the symposium could shape policy conversations heading into the fall, including topics likely to surface at Ripple’s Swell 2026 conference scheduled for Oct. 27–29 in New York City.
