SpaceX Wallet Moves $153M in Bitcoin—First On-Chain Activity Since 2022
A Bitcoin wallet attributed to SpaceX has recorded its first on-chain movement in over three years, transferring 1,308 BTC—valued at roughly $153 million—to a previously inactive address, according to blockchain analytics firm Arkham.
The BTC originated from the address 15oKQ7…i7Jf1G, which Arkham has identified as controlled by Elon Musk’s aerospace company. The funds were sent to the wallet bc1q8k…phartf, which had no prior transaction history and remains dormant following the transfer.
This marks the first outbound activity from the SpaceX-linked wallet since June 10, 2022, when it moved 3,505 BTC—then worth around $102 million—to Coinbase.
Despite the latest transaction, SpaceX still reportedly holds 6,977 BTC, currently valued at $815 million, maintaining its position as one of the largest corporate Bitcoin holders globally, behind companies like MicroStrategy and Tesla.
The motive behind the transfer is unclear. It may represent an internal reallocation, a potential sale, or a strategic shift in treasury management. No follow-up movements have been recorded from the receiving wallet.
