TRON News: USDT Leads, Justin Sun Offers Reward as TRX Expands in Moscow

The latest TRON developments include strong usage of USDT on the network, a new mathematics and science prize backed by Justin Sun, and the launch of TRX perpetual futures on Moscow Exchange for qualified investors.

CoinsBee, a global crypto gift-card platform, reported that USDT on TRON was its most frequently used onchain payment method during the 90 days ending September 1, 2026. The stablecoin recorded about 1.8 times the number of completed payments made with Bitcoin and 1.9 times those made with Ethereum.

CoinsBee’s data shows that USDT on TRON, using the TRC-20 standard, represented 16.23% of all payments on the platform so far in 2026. That compares with 9.92% in 2025, marking a 64% increase in its share.

The figures are based on successfully paid and delivered orders between June 4 and September 1, 2026. CoinsBee also distinguishes between the number of transactions and total payment value. TRC-20 accounted for 44.6% of all USDT payment transactions while representing 64.5% of USDT turnover, suggesting that TRON-based USDT payments had a higher average transaction value than USDT payments made through other networks on the platform.

CoinsBee operates across more than 180 countries and supports more than 200 cryptocurrencies. The platform offers products from over 5,000 brands and serves more than 500,000 customers.

The data should be viewed within its specific context. It reflects activity on a single gift-card marketplace rather than an independently audited measure of worldwide cryptocurrency payment volumes.

Even so, the figures highlight TRON’s position in stablecoin payments. Blockchain payment networks increasingly compete on transaction costs and settlement speeds, with TRC-20’s relatively low-cost structure contributing to its usage and turnover on the platform.

CoinsBee and TRON DAO are also conducting a joint promotion from September 21 through October 5, 2026. Eligible app users can receive a 2% discount on purchases paid with USDT on TRON by using the code USDT-TRC. The offer is limited to one use per user and remains subject to the campaign’s stated terms.

Justin Sun Backs $1 Million Mathematics and Science Prize

Justin Sun has also backed a new prize offering up to $1 million for selected achievements in mathematics and science, according to The Block.

The initiative, known as the “Justin Sun Prize,” is designed to encourage successful solutions to 66 mathematical problems. The first $1 million prize was awarded to the research team behind OpenAI for mathematical work produced by GPT-6 Astra.

The initiative adds another philanthropic effort to Sun’s recent activities, this time focusing on mathematical and scientific research.

Moscow Exchange Adds TRX Perpetual Futures

Institutional access to TRX derivatives is also expanding through Moscow Exchange, which has introduced cash-settled perpetual futures tied to BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and TRX. The TRX contract is listed under the ticker TRXUSDF.

The contracts track USD-denominated MOEX crypto indexes, while profits and losses are settled in Russian rubles. They roll daily and do not involve delivery of the underlying cryptocurrencies, following the structure typically used for regulated perpetual futures products.

Trading access is limited to qualified investors.

Initial margin requirements differ across the listed assets, with BTC set at 22%, ETH at 35%, SOL at 38%, XRP at 43% and TRX at 30%.

MOEX said its existing digital-asset futures business includes more than 72,000 qualified investors and has generated cumulative turnover of more than 600 billion rubles.

The exchange presented the new perpetual contracts as an expansion of an existing derivatives market rather than an introduction of direct spot cryptocurrency access. For TRX, the move provides qualified investors with another regulated derivatives-based avenue for gaining exposure to the token.
