MicroStrategy Buys 850 Bitcoin, Mostly Funded Through Stock Sales – 22/9/2025
MicroStrategy (MSTR) added 850 BTC to its holdings last week for $99.7 million, bringing its total Bitcoin stash to 639,825 coins. The purchase was made at an average price of $117,344 per coin, raising the company’s overall average purchase price to $73,971.
The acquisition was primarily funded through stock offerings, including perpetual preferred shares and common stock sold at-the-market (ATM), with about 80% of the funding coming from common stock sales.
MSTR shares fell 2.5% in pre-market trading, tracking both the Bitcoin purchase and the broader slide in Bitcoin’s price to roughly $112,000.
