ICP Hits $5.05 Before Pullback as On-Chain AI Boosts Momentum
September 9, 2025
Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) rebounded to $5.05 after the network’s Ignition milestone enabled large language models (LLMs) to run natively on-chain, opening new opportunities for AI-powered decentralized applications (dapps).
The token traded in a $0.22 range over the session, testing support at $4.83 before surging to its intraday high. CoinDesk Research noted that $4.83 acted as a key accumulation zone, with 348,793 units exchanging hands during the early rally.
Momentum stalled at $5.05, where selling pressure created a near-term ceiling. ICP briefly consolidated around $4.97 before a late-day push to $4.99, but renewed selling drove the price down to $4.93. At the time of writing, ICP was trading just below $4.90, about 3% off its intraday peak.
Volume spiked sharply, with over 170,000 units traded between 14:01–14:03 UTC, signaling potential liquidations or stop-loss triggers.
The rally also reflects broader ecosystem progress. The Ignition upgrade allows developers to deploy AI-driven dapps, including those capable of automatically generating smart contracts. The long-term goal is a “self-writing Internet,” where even non-technical users can create decentralized applications using natural language inputs.
Technical Summary:
- Intraday range: $4.83 support → $5.05 resistance
- Accumulation confirmed at $4.83 (348,793 units)
