Hackers Exploit Saudi Law Conference’s X Account to Push Fake Memecoins
A high-profile cyberattack saw hackers seize control of the Saudi Law Conference’s X account, using it to impersonate Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and promote fraudulent cryptocurrency projects.
The attackers posted misleading messages endorsing an “Official Saudi Arabia Memecoin” and a “FALCON Memecoin,” providing contract addresses to lure investors. The fraudulent posts have since been removed.
In response, the Saudi Law Conference issued a statement via LinkedIn, confirming the breach and warning followers against engaging with any content shared during the hack.
“Our official account was compromised, and we are working urgently to restore access,” the statement read. “We take no responsibility for unauthorized posts and strongly advise caution.”
The incident comes amid rising concerns over crypto scams tied to public figures, following a recent controversy where Argentine President Javier Milei deleted a promotional post for the now-collapsed Libra memecoin.
