Bitcoin (BTC) $87,181.76, the top cryptocurrency by market capitalization, endured a brief but sharp flash crash on Hyperliquid at 7:34 UTC, plunging from $83,307 to $80,255 in under a minute before quickly rebounding to around $83,000.
The sudden drop triggered multiple liquidations on Hyperliquid, including five positions of $10 million each, with the largest single liquidation reaching $36.78 million, according to BlockPulse data.
Other centralized exchanges experienced a much milder impact, with Bitcoin prices holding above $81,000 during the same period.
