Donald Trump Jr.: Crypto Will Define America’s Financial Future
Donald Trump Jr. made an unexpected appearance at the Ondo Summit in New York City on Thursday, where he declared that cryptocurrency will play a defining role in maintaining America’s financial supremacy.
“If we want to stay at the top, we need to embrace the financial revolution happening in crypto,” Trump Jr. said. “I see it as the future of American strength—economically and strategically.”
His remarks followed a major investment by World Liberty Financial (WLF), a Trump-backed crypto firm, which acquired $470,000 worth of ONDO tokens shortly after Ondo Finance announced plans to launch its own blockchain, Ondo Chain, for tokenized assets.
Trump Jr. also addressed concerns over crypto regulation, advocating for a framework that encourages innovation rather than stifling it. “We can’t afford to push this industry overseas with outdated policies. We need rules that foster growth while ensuring stability,” he stated.
Chase Herro, co-founder of WLF, hinted at bigger plans for the firm, including a new “strategic reserve” of crypto assets. “This is about more than just one investment—we’re building a future where digital assets have a place in global finance,” Herro said.
WLF has been actively expanding its crypto portfolio, acquiring Ethereum (ETH), wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Tron’s TRX, AAVE, and Chainlink’s LINK in recent months.
Meanwhile, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) unveiled plans earlier in the day to launch a series of ETFs under the Truth.Fi brand, including a Bitcoin ETF designed to track BTC’s price performance.
