Binance Leads Q2 Trading Volumes, Boosting BNB; Windtree Launches $200M Treasury

BNB briefly broke above $748 this week, climbing 2.5% in the past 24 hours before consolidating just under $740. The move reflects renewed market strength as total crypto market capitalization crossed the $4 trillion milestone for the first time.

According to CoinDesk Research, the surge is underpinned by a mix of strong technical momentum and resilient fundamentals. Binance — the platform behind BNB — retained its dominant position in Q2, accounting for more than 35% of global crypto trading volume, per data from TokenInsight.

Despite a slowdown in overall spot activity, continued demand for BNB as a utility token — particularly for trading fee discounts and platform services — has helped sustain price support.

Investor confidence was further reinforced by Windtree Therapeutics, a Nasdaq-listed biotech firm, which announced plans to build a $200 million BNB-denominated treasury. The company has already secured $60 million in funding from blockchain investor Build and Build Corp., with an additional $140 million under discussion.

Windtree joins a growing cohort of companies — including 10X Capital and Nano Labs — incorporating BNB into their corporate treasury strategies, signaling deepening institutional interest.

Meanwhile, BNB Chain released its 2025–2026 roadmap, featuring planned upgrades such as increased gas limits and enhanced privacy tools. The roadmap aligns with ecosystem-wide initiatives like the Ondo Global Markets Alliance, aimed at bringing tokenized securities — including stocks and ETFs — onto the BNB Chain.

The rally also follows BNB’s latest $1 billion token burn and coincides with the token’s eighth anniversary — milestones that continue to anchor long-term investor attention.

As the broader market expands and BNB’s institutional use cases grow, the token appears to be evolving beyond its roots as an exchange utility into a broader strategic asset.
