Investor Excitement Grows as BNB Gains on Faster Blocks and Tokenized Equities

BNB Edges Higher as Network Upgrade and Tokenized Stocks Stir Market Interest

BNB, the native cryptocurrency of the BNB Chain, has seen modest gains, buoyed by recent technological improvements and growing interest in tokenized equity markets. The token is up about 0.6% over the past 24 hours, supported by active trading and anticipation around new investment opportunities.

A key driver of this momentum has been the Maxwell hard fork, which launched late last month. The upgrade has cut block times in half—from around 1.5 seconds to just 0.75 seconds—boosting transaction speeds and helping the network handle higher user demand more efficiently.

Currently, the BNB Chain holds roughly $6 billion in total value locked, according to DeFiLlama, positioning itself as a fast, high-capacity option for decentralized applications.

Adding fuel to the rally, Kraken and Backed Finance have announced plans to roll out tokenized stocks on the BNB Chain. The initiative aims to allow investors outside the U.S. to trade blockchain-based versions of major equities like Apple and Tesla around the clock. These tokenized assets will be issued as BEP-20 tokens, broadening access across 185 global markets.

The broader crypto market has also been trending upward. The CoinDesk 20 index rose 2.7% in the past day, showing resilience even amid geopolitical uncertainties, including fresh tariffs announced by U.S. President Donald Trump set to begin on August 1.

From a technical standpoint, BNB met resistance around $664.20 during early trading, according to analysis from CoinDesk Research. Analysts are watching closely for accumulation patterns, which could signal that larger investors are quietly increasing their stakes. However, BNB pulled back slightly to approximately $661.75 by late session as some traders opted to lock in recent profits.

The focus now turns to whether BNB can break through the $665 to $667 resistance range, which could either trigger further gains or prompt renewed selling pressure.
