Strategy (MSTR) has received widespread endorsement from Wall Street analysts for its ambitious $84 billion expansion of its bitcoin holdings. The company’s plan to scale its digital asset portfolio through stock and debt issuance is seen as a bold yet strategic move, with analysts from Benchmark and TD Cowen praising its potential for long-term growth.
Mark Palmer of Benchmark raised his buy rating and $650 price target, citing Strategy’s unique position in the market. Palmer believes that the company’s established expertise in bitcoin acquisitions will allow it to continue outpacing competitors and generating significant shareholder value. Despite MSTR’s $12 billion premium over its bitcoin holdings, Palmer is confident that the market will continue to reward the company’s approach.
Lance Vitanza, an analyst at TD Cowen, echoed similar sentiments, noting that Strategy’s plan to raise $56.7 billion over the next two years is entirely achievable. With a current market cap of $111 billion and ample liquidity, Vitanza sees a clear path for MSTR to meet its expanded target. Vitanza also reaffirmed his buy rating and $550 price target, expressing optimism that the company’s aggressive acquisition strategy will further strengthen its position.
The revised $84 billion goal represents a significant ramp-up from the original $42 billion target, which reflects Strategy’s growing confidence in the long-term value of bitcoin. The company also increased its BTC Yield and BTC $ Gain targets, setting the new figures at 25% and $15 billion, respectively, as part of its broader growth strategy.
Despite the $5.9 billion unrealized loss in Q1 2025 due to fluctuating bitcoin prices, CFO Andrew Kang emphasized that Strategy‘s transparent accounting practices ensure stability and long-term viability. The company remains committed to maintaining its leadership position in the digital asset space.
Following the earnings call, MSTR shares surged by 1.8%, reaching $388, while bitcoin remained steady just under $97,000, signaling continued confidence in the cryptocurrency’s future prospects.
