Strategy has returned to the bitcoin market after roughly three weeks without making a purchase, adding 950 BTC to its holdings last week.
The company acquired the bitcoin for $75.7 million, paying an average of $79,670 per BTC, according to a regulatory filing released Monday.
Strategy funded the purchase from its USD reserve. The company also allocated $174 million in USD cash toward repurchasing STRC shares and used another $57.4 million from the reserve to cover dividends on its preferred stock.
Following those transactions, Strategy’s USD reserve stands at $5 billion, while its USD cash balance is approximately $1 billion.
The latest acquisition brings Strategy’s total bitcoin holdings to 846,000 BTC. Led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, the company has spent approximately $63.81 billion accumulating bitcoin at an average cost of $74,417 per coin.
Strategy shares MSTR gained 7% in premarket trading as bitcoin climbed to around $84,500, marking a 4.5% increase over the previous 24 hours.
