Metaplanet Adds 497 BTC to Reserves, Boosting Holdings to 2,888 BTC
Tokyo-listed Metaplanet has expanded its Bitcoin holdings with the purchase of 497 BTC for $43.3 million, acquired at an average price of $88,448, CEO Simon Gerovich confirmed on X.
With this latest acquisition, the company’s total Bitcoin reserves have grown to 2,888 BTC, bringing its total investment to 36.444 billion yen ($240 million) at an average purchase price of $83,172 per BTC.
This move comes just days after Metaplanet bought 156 BTC when Bitcoin’s price dipped to $87,000, seizing another opportunity to accumulate at lower levels. As of now, BTC is trading near $87,200.
The firm’s strategic Bitcoin accumulation mirrors a growing trend of institutional adoption, signaling continued confidence in BTC as a hedge against economic uncertainty.
