Polymarket Traders Favor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Over Kamala Harris in 2028 Democratic Nomination Odds

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has edged past former Vice President Kamala Harris in betting odds for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination on decentralized prediction platform Polymarket.

“Yes” contracts on Johnson trade at 7 cents, reflecting a 7% implied probability of him winning the nomination. That places him in fourth position, trailing Gavin Newsom, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Pete Buttigieg. Harris stands at 5%, tied with Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, while Tim Walz, Michelle Obama, and Mark Cuban are each priced at 1%.

Polymarket, which allows users to trade outcomes of political and financial events, recently disclosed new funding from 1789 Capital and named Donald Trump Jr. to its advisory board.

The Rock’s Political Appeal

Johnson has previously acknowledged being approached to run. In 2023, he said multiple parties asked if he would consider a presidential campaign after a poll suggested 46% of Americans would support his candidacy.

“That was an interesting poll … I was really moved by that,” Johnson told Trevor Noah on his What Now? podcast. “At the end of 2022, I got a visit from the parties asking me if I was going to run, and if I could run.”

Johnson, who identifies as a centrist and political independent, endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 but chose not to weigh in during the 2024 election. Beyond politics, his 392 million Instagram followers and background in wrestling and film make him one of the most visible figures in American culture, a potential advantage if he decides to launch a campaign.
